Look for suppliers with responsible forest and production practices: no illegal logging, harvested areas that are regenerated promptly, companies that welcome outside scrutiny of practices, participate in recovery and recycling, reducing greenhouse gases and helping to mitigate climate change. Such practices will provide assurance that today’s quality products won’t come at the expense of tomorrow’s forests.
Build Green with Wood is administered by the Canadian forest products industry to promote Canada’s leadership in advancing green building and sustainable forest management practices.
