Kaslo CF Prescribed Burn

Notice from KDCFS Management:
BCWFS ignited our prescribed slash burn shortly after 9 AM. The crew is burning from the top of the cutblock down in narrow strips to reduce risk of escape. Slash is still damp from the rain which creates a mellow burn. Winds are heading to the South, avoiding Kaslo altogether. The whole block perimeter is surrounded with 1 1/2 inch water hose, guarding flames from reaching the timber. The crew will spend tomorrow mopping up hot spots along the block perimeter. More rain is forecast later in the week aiding in extinguishing any lingering heat. The cutblock is scheduled for planting June 20.
