The District of Vanderhoof hopes to gets a community forest up and running this year.
The district is currently looking at possible benefits of a community forest in the Vanderhoof area. Mayor Gerry Thiessen says in the past the district would let industry hold forest licenses. “And they would provide jobs and that would be the benefit to the community, says Thiessen, “we sense at this point that the ministry has changed some of the rules and guidelines.”
