The BCCFA’s partnership with the UBC Faculty of Forestry has also led to a funded co-op placement which gives the students a chance to put their classroom learning into practice in the unique environment of a community forest. This is the fourth year of the program with 2 students placed in 2 communities for 4 months. In the summer of 2015, student interns worked with Lower North Thompson and Cortes. Students interned at Cheslatta and Khowutzun Community Forests in summer 2016. In 2017, students will be in Kaslo and Creston Valley.
