Summary
The Lower North Thompson Community Forest Society (LNTCFS) has one project with an allocation of $85,096 in funding and generating 123 total person days of employment.
- A significant area is now under prescription (198ha)
- Now have “shovel ready” projects for implementation
- Stand rehabilitation/ conversion to more resilient and productive forest;
- 47ha now harvested through these associated prescriptions, and incremental piling and burning treatments underway
- Acquired funding for hand treatment of approximately 12ha’s at $10,000/ha; planned 2023
- Strategic road location and construction
- Improved access for first responders
- Barriere – Prescription Development – 275 ha.
