Descriptions of the conference sessions are available here. We are pleased to announce that Minister of Forests, Bruce Ralston will join us at the banquet to present the Robin Hood Memorial Award for Excellence in Community Forestry.
Mackenzie is the location for the BCCFA 2024 Conference & AGM, hosted by McLeod Lake Mackenzie Community Forest. This year’s conference will provide delegates the unique opportunity to learn from a small rural community while also gaining perspective on the large, interconnected themes and ideas that affect and inspire community forest practitioners today.
This important event will feature engaging and informative sessions from June 11-13th, with a specially curated field trip on Tuesday the 11th and a banquet on the evening of Wednesday the 12th.
Accommodations There are rooms available at the Williston Lake Lodge, the Timberman and the Blue Stain Guest House. There are also rooms at the AlexanderMackenzie Hotel, but they are outside of the BCCFA block booking, so no need to mention the conference. There are plenty of campsites available!
Field Trip If you plan to attend the field trip on the morning of the 11th, we recommend arrival on the 10th.
Travel to Mackenzie Mackenzie is a 2 hour drive north from Prince George. If you plan on renting a car in Prince George, please do it today to avoid disappointment. We recommend carpooling!
