Lumby and Splatsin get green light for community forest
A long anticipated economic project is moving ahead in Lumby. The provincial government has granted a 21,595 cubic metre community forest agreement to the Village of Lumby and the Splatsin First Nation. “The key commitments are to create local employment and contacting opportunities, encourage local timber processing and value-added manufacturing and conserve cultural sites and values,” states a release.
