Partnership formed for sustainable growth – A unique partnership has been struck to spark local economic growth. The Toquaht Nation has teamed up with the District of Ucluelet to present a community forest application to BC’s Ministry of Forests. The two groups recently reached a limited-partnership agreement and have formed the Barkley Community Forest Corporation (BCFC). The BCFC will be run by a five-person board of directors comprised of two Toquaht Nation representatives, two district representatives, and one non-partisan member agreed upon by both parties.
