Community Forestry as a Tool for Rural Development in BC
BCCFA Submission to Rural Development Engagement Feb 13 2018
The BC Government is committed to developing a new, long-term, durable Rural Development Strategy that works for all rural British Columbians. The purpose of this new Strategy is to support rural and Indigenous communities build economically resilient and sustainable futures.
The BCCFA has prepared a submission and we encourage you to use it as inspiration to make your own submissions. Let’s raise the profile of community forestry and let government know how important our community forests are to our Indigenous and rural communities.
We would like to invite you to make written submissions and participate in the online discussion through government’s engagement website at engage.gov.bc.ca/ruraldevelopment. To make a written submission, keep it to a maximum of 5 pages and send to citizenEngagement@gov.bc.ca.
We also encourage you to help spread the word to your networks and communities, so that they can share their stories and ideas. Please feel free to distribute the BCCFA submission.
The online discussions and engagement will be open until February 28, 2018 at 4 p.m.
The results of the engagement efforts will be compiled and posted to engage.gov.bc.ca/ruraldevelopment in the Spring of 2018.
