Community Forest’s $50,000 donation will add seats to high school program

A$50,000 donation from the Alberni Valley Community Forest will allow Alberni District Secondary School to add another class to its senior forestry program, and 10 more seats to its Grade 9 Project-Based Learning class. The donation was presented to the school Friday, and ADSS forestry teacher Ryan Dvorak said the extra money will enhance the program. “What it really means for our program is the ability to start getting much more creative in how we offer our education programs at ADSS,” Dvorak said. “It gives us some flexibility around costs that are continuing to rise not only as the program gets more complex, but also as pressures on our district continue to rise.”
