Enderby checks out community forest

Enderby officials are trying to stimulate the local economy.  Council members recently met with Ministry of Forests officials to discuss the possibility of establishing a community forest.

“We won’t know for three to six months if we will get an invitation to apply,” said Mayor Dee Wejr.  The goal of a community forest is to ensure a supply of wood fiber to local businesses as a way of creating employment.  “We have met with the Splats’in First Nation and we plan to partner with them,” said Wejr.
