After participating in a recent series of roundtable discussions with communities affected by the Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic, the NDP’s Forestry critic says industry and the public is mostly aware of and ready for what will be a changing industry post-beetle. But Norm Macdonald says more leadership is needed at the government level. “There were challenges that were going to be there anyway in terms of forest health issues, in terms of the market collapse we saw in the United States, but certainly exacerbated by a lack of attention from the Provincial Government.”
