Provincial Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources Steve Thomson is encouraged by the recent $6.7 million investment Western Forest Products committed to its Alberni Pacific Division mill. He was in Port Alberni for the announcement, Wednesday, and called it a sign that the lumber and forestry industry is coming out of the toughest recession it has faced.
